Monte Molina was the project manager/estimator for this project along with Kevin Carr. This project was located in the Suisun Bay, in Suisun, CA. The habitat that was created was 2.5 miles of habitat berm, 7800LF of channel excavation for tidal flow, 18,000LF of tidal ditches which flow into the main channel excavation, 4 large ponds for tidal overflow, and 1 tide gate with a deck to control water flow. This part of the project was completed in 2018. FMC used 5 excavators, including an amphibious excavator, along with 3 low ground pressure tractor scrapers, 5 marookas and 3 LGP dozers. FMC hauled and placed over 350,000 cubic yards of very saturated soil. The soil had to be dried after excavation prior to placement to adhere the specs for compaction and permit requirements.

Project: Morrison Creek Floodwall 10 Million
Contract Value: 12 Million
Work Completed: June 2012-August 2013
This project was for the Army Corps of Engineers, in Sacramento, CA. Four M Contracting, Inc was the prime contractor for this project. The scope of this project was to build a 3000’ LF 17’ tall floodwall. Four M handled all submittals, QC, safety and all project management. RNR Construction was our major subcontractor, constructing all forms and concrete work. 65,000 cubic yards of dirt had to be excavated and replaced once floodwall was built including some off haul. Approved excavation plans were done by a registered professional engineer prior to the excavation, as a ¾ slope had to be built along existing property owners’ backyards. In addition to earthwork, 1,100’ of shoring was completed for safety of the excavation. FMC used (I) beams and lagging for this activity. Other activities included storm drains, waterline re-alignment, ¾’ AB roads, and hydroseeding. Monte Molina and Kevin Carr handled all project management, negotiations for change orders and all RMS submittals.
